Visitor Mode


Purpose:

If you log in to the client in visitor mode, a visitor account will be created for you by default, so that you can add devices to the client and manage them directly without registration.

Managing Devices in Visitor Mode


Purpose:

You can add devices to the client in visitor mode and perform operations such as live view, playback, and access control.

Note: Pyronix devices is not supported in Visitor Mode.

Steps:

  1. Enter visitor mode.
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Hik-Connect page to enter visitor mode..
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Login page to enter visitor mode.
  2. Add device.
    • Tap Add Device to add device.
    • Tap at the upper-right corner to add device.

    Note: For details about adding device, see Adding Device.

  3. (Optional) Edit device information or parameters such as device name and linked camera.
  4. Perform further operations such as live view, playback, and access control.

Alarm Configuration in Visitor Mode


In visitor mode, you can configure the alarm notifications on Alarm Notification page. The device will push alarm notifications to your phone. You can also read and delete the alarm notifications on the Message page.

Account Management


Purpose:

You can view the default user name of your visitor account, and its QR code, which can be scanned by other users to receive devices shared by them.

Steps:

  1. Enter visitor mode.
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Hik-Connect page to enter visitor mode..
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Login page to enter visitor mode.
  2. Tap More on the Hik-Connect page to ender the More page.
  3. Perform the following operations on the page.
    • Tap Account Management to enter the Account Management page.
    • You can view the default user name of the visitor account.

      Note: The default user name is uneditable.

    • Tap My QR Code to display your visitor account's QR code.
    • Note: You can let other Hik-Connect users scan your QR code to share their devices with you. For details about sharing devices, see Managing Sharing Settings in Visitor Mode.

Managing Sharing Settings in Visitor Mode


Purpose:

In visitor mode, you can share devices with others and receive and manage deices shared by others.

Sharing Device


Purpose:

You need to scan the QR code of another visitor mode account to share device(s) with it.

Before You Start:

The QR code of the target visitor mode account has been displayed. See Account Management for details.

Steps:

  1. Enter visitor mode.
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Hik-Connect page to enter visitor mode..
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Login page to enter visitor mode.
  2. Tap ->Scan QR Code to enter the Scan QR Code page.
  3. Scan the QR code of another visitor mode account by aligning the QR Code with the scanning frame.
  4. You enter the Share Device page.

  5. (Optional) Input the additional information in the Remark field.
  6. Note: Only you can view the remark content.

  7. Tap to enter the Select Device page.
  8. Select multiple devices you want to share.
  9. Tap OK to go back to the Share Device page.
  10. The selected devices will be listed in the Device field.

  11. (Optional) Tap to go back to the Select Device page, and then reselect devices.
  12. (Optional) Select permissions that you want to share.
    1. Tap the device name and select permissions on the Device permission page.
    2. Tap OK to save the settings.
    3. (Optional) On the Share Device page, tap All Permissions to select all permissions.
  13. Tap Save to save the settings.
  14. The added device(s) will be shared to the target account.

Receiving and Managing Devices Shared by Others


In visitor mode, you can receive and manage devices shared by others, see Other's Shared Device Management for details.

 

Other Settings in Visitor Mode


In visitor mode, you can configure settings including enabling message push notification, saving device parameters, enabling auto-receiving alarm after powering on, generating QR code, etc.

Register an Account in Visitor Mode


Purpose:

Athough the visitor mode allows you to manage devices without registration, you can only manage your devices on one mobile phone. However, by registering an account and becoming an official user, you can manage your devices on different phones by logging in to your registered account.

Notes:

After registration, the devices added in your visitor account will be bound to your registered account.

Steps:

  1. Enter visitor mode.
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Hik-Connect page to enter visitor mode..
    • Tap Visitor Mode on the Login page to enter visitor mode.
  2. Tap More->Register an Account to open the Join Us window.
  3. Tap Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to read the relevant information.
  4. Tap Agree if you accept our terms of service and privacy policy.
  5. You will enter the Register an Account page.

  6. Enter your mobile phone number.
  7. Or you can tap By Email Address and then enter your email address.

  8. Tap Get Security Code to get the security code for identify verification.
  9. Enter the received security code.
  10. Create a password which contains 6 to 16 characters of letters, numbers or symbols.
    • We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing (Using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.) in order to increase the security of your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly, especially in the high security system, resetting the password monthly or weekly can better protect your product.
    • Proper configuration of all passwords and other security settings is the responsibility of the installer and/or end-user.
  11. Tap Finish to finish registration.
  12. Note: You can change the password on the More page after logging in to the client by the registered account. For details about changing password, see Changing Account Password.
